Helping You Build A Better Backyard Pond

My New Pondmaster Pond Pump

Well my new Pondmaster Pond Pump has arrived and is working great.  I told you in a previous post that we had to finally breakdown and buy a new water pump that we use with our UV Filter.

We ordered a new Pondmaster Mag Drive pump (PM-7), which took about four days to arrive.  My wife hooked it up, and we were actually surprised at how powerful it is.  Below is a picture of it.

The pump we had to replace was about 15 years old and we had to keep banging on it to get it to work.

As I said we bought the PM-7 which moves about 675 gallons of water per hour.  We are using it to pump the water though our external ultra violet water clarifier.  It didn’t take long for the water to start clearing up once we got it flowing again.

I really can’t say enough good things about these Mag Drive water pumps by Pondmaster.  They work great and last a long time.  Be sure to check out the Pondmaster Pond Pumps.  They come in several different sizes for whatever you may need it for and the size of your pond.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

Your Pond After Winter

Hi everyone,

Now is the time of year to get your pond ready after a long winter.  This is obviously  mainly for most of us who live in a climate where it gets cold during the winter.

My wife started up our pond a couple of weeks ago.  You know rake up around the pond, reposition the stones, get the pond filter and water pumps going, and putting the pond plants back in.

She has it looking pretty darn good as you can see in the picture below.  The quality isn’t very good because she took it with a camera phone.

As you can see she has already planted flowers that are doing really well.  I’ll get better pictures as time goes on.

We had to finally order a new water pump for our pond that we use with our UV filter.  It’s been a couple days now without the UV filter and we can see the water is getting cloudy again.  It doesn’t take long especially on sunny days.  I’ll report back once we get the pump and UV filter going again.

Ill talk to you soon again, thanks for dropping by.  Bob

Summer And Winter Pond

These are some summer and winter pond pictures I wanted to share with you.  The pictures were taken right around the same place from my deck.  It’s amazing what a few months difference makes.  I’ll be so glad when spring gets here.  Winter in Ohio just lasts way too long.  That little spot you see in the bottom picture is where we keep a hole in the ice to allow any gases to escape.  See ya, Bob
